The Dallas Mavericks have signed forward Naji Marshall to a fully guaranteed three-year, $52.2 million contract extension that keeps him under contract through the 2029-30 NBA season. When the team announced the extension Sunday, financial terms were not disclosed; however ESPN’s Shams Charania reported the value of the agreement on social media.
Mavericks president of basketball operations Masai Ujiri said in a statement: “Naji has earned this opportunity through the way he approaches the game every day. He is a competitive player who impacts winning in a variety of ways. His versatility, toughness, and willingness to embrace every challenge make him an important part of what we’re building.”
Marshall earned the new deal after emerging as one of Dallas’ most dependable two-way contributors during the 2025-26 campaign. The versatile wing provided scoring, defensive versatility and ball-handling while establishing himself as an important piece of the Mavericks’ lineup. His strong play also drew trade interest during the offseason, but Dallas instead chose to make a long-term commitment to the 28-year-old.
Originally joining the Mavericks as a free agent in 2024 after beginning his NBA career with the New Orleans Pelicans, Marshall has steadily increased his value through his ability to defend multiple positions and contribute offensively. The extension reflects the organization’s confidence that he will remain a significant part of the franchise’s plans as Dallas continues building around No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg and its evolving core.
The agreement also provides the Mavericks with added roster stability heading into the upcoming season, rewarding Marshall for his development while preserving one of the team’s most versatile veterans. By finalizing the extension well before free agency next summer, Dallas avoids the risk of losing a key contributor and reinforces its commitment to maintaining continuity as it pursues a return to playoff contention.
